This summer, the sound of music filled homes nationwide as dedicated Noteway students gave their all in our Summer Practice Contest. Among the many talented participants, one voice stood out – meet Elijah, our 10-year-old practice contest winner!
Elijah’s hard work and determination paid off, leaving him both surprised and thrilled to have come out on top. “I was so surprised and excited that I won the practice contest,” he shares with a smile. Behind his dedication lies an unwavering source of motivation – his mom. “She keeps me motivated to never give up and to keep on trying,” Elijah says, crediting her as his biggest cheerleader.
Recently, he took the stage at his school’s talent show, performing an Imagine Dragons piece, which was a hit. “I love music so much, that I start singing and sometimes stand up to dance. Singing makes me happy,” Elijah shares, showing just how passionate he is about his craft.
Elijah’s musical tastes are as eclectic as they come. He enjoys a mix of popular and classical music, and one song holds a particularly special place in his heart. “My favorite song is ‘Brave’ because it is very meaningful to me,” he shares. Along with that, he’s also a fan of listening to “Other Side,” a Minecraft music disc that he loves.
His instructor, Maria, has been instrumental in his growth as a singer and musician. “Maria is awesome. I give her 5 stars! She is the best voice teacher ever!” Elijah says enthusiastically.
Elijah’s advice for other kids thinking of pursuing music is simple yet inspiring: “Follow your heart and decide if you want to sing or play music. And do your best in whatever you choose.”
Congratulations to Elijah for his awesome achievement, and we can’t wait to see where his musical journey takes him next!
